Engineering Technician - Division

Position Summary

Engineering Technician I (S) – Division 10, NC07. This role supports technicians and engineers in construction inspection, surveying, materials sampling, testing, erosion control, and construction traffic control. The technician performs a wide variety of standardized and non‑standardized tests, compiles and analyzes field data, and maintains accurate records.

• Execute a wide range of standardized and non‑standardized tests and assignments.
• Compile, analyze, compute, edit, and process field data.
• Perform full range of calculations and computations required for inspection and surveying tasks.
• Maintain accurate and legible records and reports, including computer and iPad data entry.

• At least two years of related experience, or an associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of general concepts, practices, and theories used in construction, construction inspection, and/or construction surveying.
• Experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking, and completing projects independently or with limited supervision.
• Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments.
• Proficient in the use of computer equipment, iPad and related software.
• Experience in customer service and interacting with the general public.
• Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle.
• Safety toe shoes required.

Salary Grade: NC07
Range: $35,984.00 – $49,477.50 – $62,971.00
