As a Roadway Design Project Manager you will independently apply, plan, design, direct, organize, execute and recommend activities for roadway improvement projects across the Carolinas for public and private clients. You will work on a diverse range of transportation projects, including new construction, widening, bicycle & pedestrian, highway safety, intersection, interchange and design‑build projects from advanced planning through final design and construction support.

- Providing professional engineering design services for transportation improvement projects.
- Overseeing design development and production of construction details, plans, specifications, and estimates, including detailed engineering calculations.
- Collaborating with clients, sub‑consultants, technical staff, and managers across multiple disciplines to develop quality deliverables within schedule and budgetary requirements.
- Directing and mentoring design support staff.
- Conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well‑defined tasks, including collection and analysis of data.
- Performing routine calculations and evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.
- Bachelor of Science from an ABET‑accredited university in Civil Engineering.
- North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 5–10 years of transportation roadway design experience.
- NCDOT roadway design experience (preferred).
Proficiency in Micro Station and GEOPAK (Open Roads experience is a plus). - Demonstrated knowledge and application of AASHTO and State DOT design standards.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sense of urgency and self‑initiative to meet client deadlines.
- Detail‑oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
