A well-established & rapidly growing engineering organization in the local area is actively seeking to add a Senior Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer to the group. This individual will play a key role in leading the design and coordination of complex building systems while supporting project delivery from concept through construction.
The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a proven background in MEP consulting, capable of serving as a technical leader, mentoring junior staff, and acting as an Engineer of Record on projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead plumbing and fire protection design across governmental, healthcare facilities (hospitals, outpatient clinics, inpatient & outpatient care centers, and critical facility focused projects).
- Produce drawings and specifications in compliance with applicable codes and firm standards.
- Perform engineering calculations, life cycle cost analysis, and equipment selection.
- Prepare construction documents, drawings, and project‑specific specifications.
- Conduct field investigations, site visits, and construction inspections.
- Review RFIs, submittals, and support construction administration activities.
- Ensure designs meet project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders.
- Serve as Engineer of Record on assigned projects.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and design staff.
- Participate in client meetings and present technical solutions.
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes and standards, including NFPA, ASHRAE, IBC.
- Support sustainable design initiatives and energy‑efficient system solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Fire Protection, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Eight (8) or more years of experience in MEP consulting engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- Strong understanding of plumbing and fire protection systems design.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of ICC, NFPA and local codes and standards.
- HVAC and analysis tools such as Trane Trace 3D and TOPSS.
- High level of competency in computer‑aided design and modeling tools.
- LEED, Green Globes, or similar sustainability certifications preferred.
