The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing in our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today’s and tomorrow’s power grid!
The Knightdale facility delivers integrated electrical skid assemblies that combine power distribution and power conversion equipment with protection and automation systems. Electrical skids provide outdoor rated, modular, value‑add solutions for key vertical markets to improve delivery reliability and lower total cost of ownership for customers.
Plant EHS ManagerThis on‑site role is pivotal in shaping a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance across diverse manufacturing operations. You will lead environmental, health, and safety programs at our Knightdale facility and help us pursue our Zero Harm culture.
- Champion Siemens’ Zero Harm culture—protecting employees, contractors, and customers.
- Lead initiatives to reduce the plant’s carbon footprint and enhance sustainability.
- Develop and execute a strategic EHS roadmap that elevates safety standards.
- Conduct training, audits, and compliance reporting for OSHA, EPA and internal requirements.
- Manage workers’ compensation and return‑to‑work programs.
- Drive continuous improvement in ergonomics, processes, and awareness.
- Support investigations, audits and corrective actions to maintain top‑tier EHS performance.
- Collaborate with regional and national EHS teams to share best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 4+ years in a technical EHS role focused on safety and environmental compliance.
- 2+ years in a leadership role within manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of EPA, OSHA and industry standards.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future.
- Professional certifications: CSP, CIH or CHMM.
- Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 18001 systems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Passion for creating safer, more sustainable workplaces.
