Job OverviewEngineer Technician II (NS) position located in the Sylva VR/IL Unit Office, supporting Rehabilitation Engineer I positions in the Western Region of NC. This role applies engineering guidelines to develop recommendations that assist persons with severe disabilities to function independently in homes and communities. The duty station is in the Western Region at management discretion.
Responsibilities- Making recommendations for suitable home and work modifications for persons with disabilities
- Troubleshooting process and equipment problems
- Reviewing completed projects
- Working as a liaison with contractors
- Knowledge of practical applications of engineering or architectural science and technology
- Knowledge of and/or experience producing written reports, recommendations, and plans
- Knowledge of working within a professional team setting to reach unified goals
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of engineering from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- May require registration as a professional engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
Recruitment range: $41,206 – $70,000. The position is eligible for a hybrid-teleworking schedule to include weekly onsite work hours.
