Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced MES Engineer (Mid-Senior level) to lead the design, configuration, and deployment of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) within highly regulated Life Science and industrial manufacturing environments. This individual will play a key role in architecting MES solutions, guiding engineering teams, and collaborating directly with customers to deliver robust, compliant, and scalable systems. The ideal candidate brings deep MES technical expertise, particularly with platforms such as Werum PAS-X, Sepasoft, or POMS
and extensive experience working within GMP-regulated environments.

This is a leadership-oriented technical role requiring strong analytical ability, communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering MES projects from concept through commissioning.

Key Responsibilities
MES Solution Design & Delivery

Lead the design, configuration, testing, start-up, and commissioning of MES solutions for Life Science and industrial manufacturing customers.

Serve as a solution architect, translating customer requirements into functional and technical MES designs.

Develop and configure MES components, including E  recipes aligned with GAMP5, S88, and S95 standards.

Implement solutions that integrate Level 24 systems, connecting equipment, process automation, and enterprise platforms.

Customer Interaction & Technical Leadership

Engage directly with customers to gather requirements, recommend solution architectures, and ensure alignment with business goals.

Lead or mentor teams of MES and automation engineers during design, development, and deployment phases.

Support customers in evaluating MES platforms and provide expert guidance on optimal system configuration.

Project Management & Execution

Develop project execution plans, work breakdown structures, schedules, and budgets.

Oversee daily project operations and activities, ensuring timeline adherence, budget control, and issue resolution.

Support financial and task tracking, reporting, and documentation to ensure project profitability.

Identify risks early and drive proactive resolution.

Qualifications
Required

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.

7+ years of experience delivering MES solutions in regulated Life Science or industrial environments.

Hands-on experience with MES platforms such as Werum PAS-X, Sepasoft, or POMS
.

Proven experience designing and implementing MES solutions across all lifecycle phases concept, basis of design, implementation, testing, commissioning.

Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks including cGMP and 21 CFR Part 11
.

Familiarity with E  design
, batch modeling, recipe configuration, and related GAMP standards.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment integration, and IT/OT networking within a GMP facility
.

Experience with external system interfaces (DeltaV, SAP, LIMS, PI, Maximo).

Strong knowledge of historian technologies and reporting systems.

Experience with
SQL databases (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.).

Excellent verbal, written, and technical documentation skills.

Must reside in North Carolina and be able to travel up to 25%.

Preferred

Leadership experience mentoring engineering teams.

Experience acting as technical lead or project manager on small-to-mid scale MES projects.

Prior experience supporting warehouse/inventory management modules within a GMP environment.

Remote or on-site industrial environment depending on project requirements.

Frequent use of computers, engineering tools, and communication systems.
