Schneider's Field Service Representatives perform assembly, startup, diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance on company and third‑party equipment. They work across varied environments, collaborating with customers, teammates, and partners to support business operations.

The role provides onsite work at customer locations, with a 40‑hour guarantee and occasional nonstandard hours. All representatives receive direct product training and training on digital and physical tools, along with service vehicles, tools, uniforms, mobile devices, and laptops.

Responsibilities
  • Mentor other field service reps and provide technical support when required.
  • Report to the Field Service Manager and advise on technical service matters.
  • Manage a number of customer key accounts.
  • Carry out service or support work in line with standard procedures, extending beyond them as needed.
  • Provide pre‑sales and/or post‑sales technical support, including commissioning, installation, testing, and maintenance of products, equipment, and systems.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems arising during start‑up.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new products or equipment upgrades that meet customer needs.
  • Monitor and resolve recurring complex problems to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced engineers, verify quality of work, and help diagnose and solve problems.
  • Generate leads for Service Support.
  • Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve technical problems that arise during start‑up.
  • Train customers on the equipment features they have purchased.
Skills Required
  • Leadership skills and a coaching attitude to support team members.
  • Customer engagement skills, supporting the Services Manager in key interactions.
  • High technical knowledge of electronic/electrical component theory; HVAC systems knowledge and software preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with general guidance.
  • Adherence to division policy guidelines and independent judgment.
  • Compliance with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Participation in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Capacity to read, analyze, and interpret general business procedures, professional documents, technical procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and procedure manuals and to present information to managers, clients, and customers.
  • Mathematical skills for calculating figures and applying algebra and geometry concepts.
  • Capability to define problems, analyze data, draw conclusions, and interpret technical instructions.
  • Proficient computer skills: email, record keeping, database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics.
  • Multitasking ability.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Familiarity with preparing MOPs and adherence to approved MOPs guidelines.
  • Verifiable hands‑on technical experience required.
  • Certification as required by local business and country regulations.
  • Relevant experience with critical systems infrastructure equipment such as electrical switch gear, diesel generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution, chillers, cooling towers, fire detection/suppression, or building monitoring systems.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Minimum two‑year degree or technical certification in an electrical program preferred.
  • Seven plus years of experience as a shop and/or field electrical technician.
  • At least one year of exhibited leadership among peers.
  • Knowledge of advanced Electrical Industry manufacturing standards, including ANSI IEEE C37.
  • Experience in designing and manufacturing bus and structural modification projects.
  • Skilled in writing accurate and complete test reports, project summaries, and explaining anomalies.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical theory and control circuits (Ohm's Law, AC/DC theory, contactor and circuit breaker schematics).
  • Knowledge of protective relay testing, hi‑pot testing, and breaker function testing.
