Senior Traffic Analysis Engineer

Overview

Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) is looking for a Senior Traffic Analysis Engineer to join its Transportation Engineering team in Towson, MD;
Rockville, MD; or Raleigh, NC. The role focuses on traffic operations analysis and modeling, with opportunities to work on capacity, safety, planning, and feasibility studies.

• Conduct traffic operational analysis using a variety of modeling tools.
• Support design solutions and operational improvements through analytical work.
• Perform crash data analysis and safety studies for intersections and corridors.
• Prepare summary tables, sketches, exhibits, and technical reports to communicate findings.
• Tabulate, process, and deliver traffic data collection outputs.
• Conduct on‑site field investigations when required.
• Communicate and collaborate within a team environment.
• Work independently and supervise junior staff.

• BS in Civil Engineering (BSCE) with 6‑12 years of traffic engineering experience.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) required;
  Professional Engineer (PE) or PTOE is a plus.
• Strong understanding of traffic analysis concepts and experience with traffic model development.
• Proficiency with Synchro, Sim Traffic, Warrants, SIDRA, HCS, and related tools.
• Working knowledge of roadway design principles and familiarity with MUTCD, ITE, FHWA, and AASHTO manuals.
• Experience with Micro Station and/or AutoCAD is a plus.
• Excellent communication, technical writing, and organizational skills; positive attitude and teamwork orientation.
