Signal Integrity Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Signal Integrity Engineer in RTP, NC to join an organization within the electrical and electronic interconnect manufacturing industry with up to 30% travel in the U.S. The Signal Integrity Engineer will be a hands‑on technical leader focused on system‑level Ser Des bring‑up for cable and backplane designs, combining deep technical expertise with team leadership and global factory engagement.

• Drive high‑speed electrical validation efforts, including signal integrity analysis, S‑parameter characterization, BERT testing, TDR, and VNA evaluations.
• Create, execute, and document engineering and design validation test plans to ensure product performance and compliance.
• Partner closely with hardware, firmware, manufacturing, and customer teams to resolve performance issues and support product releases.
• Design and enhance high‑speed test platforms and methodologies aligned with future product and technology roadmaps.
• Investigate test failures, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions to improve overall signal integrity performance.

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering;
  Master’s preferred.
• 8–10 years of signal integrity engineering experience with system‑level Ser Des bring‑up.
• Strong background in signal integrity engineering, electromagnetic simulations, and S‑parameters.
• Experience with high‑speed cables, backplanes, or interconnect systems.
• Proficiency with SI simulation and measurement tools (IBIS‑AMI, HFSS/CST, TDR, VNA, BERT).

• Salary range: $165,000 - $195,000
