Junior Hydraulics & Stormwater Engineer

Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Transportation team as a Junior Hydraulics & Stormwater Engineer in Raleigh, NC.

• Assist with preparation of engineering and design documents, computations and quantity estimates.
• Assist with analysis and preparation of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, permits, and designs for projects.
• Complete job‑specific quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual.
• Visit project sites for field investigations and other duties to meet project needs.
• May assist with client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
• May attend client meetings - days or nights.
• Other duties as assigned.

A valid driver's license and some travel will be required.

• A bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering from an accredited college or university and at least 1 year of applicable experience.

• Familiarity with NCDOT or other state/municipal DOT stormwater/hydraulics design guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Experience with Open Roads Designer - Drainage and Utilities.
• Experience designing open and closed stormwater conveyance systems.
• Exposure to relevant HEC-RAS, SRH-2D, EPA SWMM, HydroCAD software.
• Exposure to Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GIS), Low Impact Development (LID), and Stormwater Control Measure/BMP design.
