Environmental Specialist I (S)
This temporary position supports the North Carolina Geological Survey by organizing, digitizing, and preserving a wide range of geological and archival materials.
Work will occur at both the Core Repository on Reedy Creek Road and the Archdale Building in downtown Raleigh.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scan and catalog government documents—administrative, technical, and geologic—in accordance with Survey standards.
- Sort, organize, and digitize commodity file information housed in the Archdale Building, including historical and technical geological documents.
- Ensure that all scanned materials meet required resolution, naming conventions, and archiving procedures.
Minimum
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in one of the agricultural, biological, engineering, environmental or natural resource sciences or a closely related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
