Civil Project Engineer II/III - Roadway Design
Timmons Group is currently seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III to join our Roadway Design Transportation Group in Raleigh, NC. This is an exciting opportunity to work on impactful transportation projects and grow your career with a collaborative and innovative team.
Job DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
- Design horizontal alignments and vertical profiles for roadway widening and improvement projects
- Develop 3D models and plans using Auto Desk Civil 3D and/or Bentley Open Roads Designer
- Create visualizations for client and public presentations using 3D software
- Prepare detailed plan sheets and complete project submission packages
- Perform roadway and drainage calculations using engineering software and reference materials
- Assist in preparing engineering and construction cost estimates
- Research and utilize open-source GIS data for project planning
- Conduct field observations and data collection to support design discussions
- Stay current with emerging technologies to enhance team capabilities
- Participate in client and contractor meetings to support project delivery
Skill/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
- 2+ years of experience in transportation civil engineering, specifically roadway design
- Proficiency in Bentley Open Roads Designer and/or Auto Desk Civil 3D (preferred)
- Familiarity with VDOT standards and procedures (preferred)
- EIT certification (preferred)
