Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Lab Technician II.
The Lead Validation Engineering Technician is an exciting role providing technical support for engineering teams in the development of new Eaton power system products and accessories. This role will support 3‑phase UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supplies) products typically utilized in commercial data centers and institutions.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $56000 - $83000 a year.

What you’ll do:- Install equipment & instrumentation for use in evaluation of power systems products
- Perform product testing to industry standards
- Use computer‑based test equipment for recording and analysis of test data
- Organize test data and prepare test reports
- Fabricate, modify and repair electronic assemblies and related hardware
- Test lab maintenance and organization
Required (Basic) Qualifications
- Associates degree in Electrical/Electronics related degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum three (3) experience in an engineering or technical role.
- Willing to work in a high‑power lab test environment (600vac, 1K DC).
- Candidate will not need sponsorship now or in the future.
- Candidate must reside within 50 miles of Raleigh, NC. Relocation is not available for this role.
- Experience with low voltage electrical systems.
- Understanding of electronic circuit theory and troubleshooting.
- Experience with component parametric evaluation.
- Use of electronic test instrumentation.
- Experience with setup and test for product certifications.
- Electromechanical prototype fabrication experience.
- PCBA rework, modification and soldering techniques.
- Knowledge of basic electricity.
- Collaborative orientation.
- Previous experience/knowledge with UPS and/or power electronic products.
- Previous Coursework in power electronics.
- Lab experience around high voltage where safety awareness is critical.
- Must possess effective and verbal communications skills.
- Must possess good organizational and prioritization skills to maintain and address multiple assigned projects and expectations.
