A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) is an ENR 500 A/E firm providing services in civil engineering, construction management, traffic and transportation design, water systems, environmental resources, and landscape architecture.

AMT is seeking a Transportation Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience to join our Raleigh, NC office. This position supports a variety of projects, including data collection, alternative analysis, horizontal and vertical alignment development, roadway modeling, and MOT / traffic plan design.

Qualifications
  • BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
  • North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure preferred.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering design concepts.
  • Experience performing design for roadway transportation projects, including cost estimating, specifications, and highway plans.
  • Experience with transportation design standards.
  • Proficiency in Microstation and Open Roads Designer (ORD) is required.
  • Prior work experience with NCDOT is required; experience with municipalities and other state DOTs is a plus.
  • Experience in the following is a plus: ORD intersection and roadway corridor modeling, AutoCAD/Civil3D, GIS (ArcGIS/Google Earth), SignCAD, and Auto Turn.
  • Completion of NCDOT prequalification courses is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships.
