Job Description
- Lead teams to design and deliver water treatment facilities and related water infrastructure, taking high‑level goals and converting them into detailed designs and construction documents.
- Use process modeling, sign and seal construction drawings as engineer‑of‑record.
- Have experience with progressive design‑build delivery as a plus.
- Review draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and sign off on completed designs.
- Ensure firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
- Perform site reviews and studies as needed to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications; update design requirements as necessary.
- Conduct water quality analyses and modeling.
- Contribute to the firm’s Technical Knowledge Management by developing white papers, technical design documentation, and submitting these to technical journals.
- Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposals (RFPs); review draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local, and federal regulations and best practices.
- Meet with current and potential clients to review their design needs and provide updates to project management as required.
- Attend conferences, symposia, and other events to promote the firm’s products and services in collaboration with sales staff.
- Act as a point of contact for external clients and related industry contacts; collaborate with clients and government officials to clarify technical questions.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior staff to foster their development.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- 12 years of related experience.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel frequency depends on specific duties and project demands.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Expert knowledge of computer‑assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3‑D and 4‑D software and practices.
- Expert knowledge of engineering principles of design.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
