Entry Level Roadway Engineer – Raleigh or Charlotte, North Carolina

Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000/year based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.

Entry Level Roadway Engineer Essential Functions- Perform roadway engineering design tasks for transportation projects from preliminary to final design.
- Provide engineering design services for traditional design‑bid‑build projects and design‑build transportation projects.
- Utilize CAD software to prepare detailed engineering drawings and plans for roadway projects.
- Assist in the preparation of construction documents, including specifications and cost estimates, to facilitate the implementation of roadway projects.
- Work with senior engineers and other team members to ensure effective communication, coordination, and progress of roadway projects.
- Stay updated on relevant transportation engineering codes, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance with applicable guidelines.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- 1+ years of roadway design experience.
- Experience working with Municipal or State DOTs.
- EIT Certification.
- Micro Station, GEOPAK or Open Roads software experience.
- Ability to analyze situations and identify ways to improve efficiency.
- Ability to react quickly and calmly to high‑pressure situations.
- Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively in team settings.
- Ability to meet all safety requirements if/when visiting a project site.
