A well-established, employee-focused civil engineering consultancy is seeking a Water Resources Project Manager to support and lead a growing portfolio of municipal infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to oversee impactful stormwater, drainage, and water resources initiatives while working with a collaborative, technically strong team.

The position focuses on leading projects from early planning through design and construction, with a strong emphasis on client engagement, team leadership, and technical delivery across public-sector projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver water resources projects including stormwater, drainage, and floodplain initiatives
  • Perform and oversee hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling and analysis
  • Manage full project lifecycle: planning, design, and construction support
  • Oversee preparation of engineering plans, reports, and technical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., MS4, NPDES)
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables across multiple assignments
  • Lead, mentor, and develop junior engineers and technical staff
  • Coordinate with subconsultants, agencies, and internal teams
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships with municipalities and agencies
  • Support business development efforts including proposals and client outreach
Job Requirements
  • PE licensed (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe)
  • 8+ years experience in water resources or civil engineering
  • 2+ years of project management and team leadership experience
  • Background supporting municipal or public-sector clients
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and client relationships
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
Skills & Experience
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS or similar tools)
  • Stormwater management, drainage design, and floodplain analysis
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance (MS4, NPDES, permitting processes)
  • Plan production and construction-phase support
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Team leadership and staff development experience
  • Effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
  • Experience with common engineering and design software (GIS, CAD, modeling tools
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in civil or water resources engineering
  • Professional certifications relevant to water resources or floodplain management
  • Experience with permitting agencies and regulatory coordination
  • Exposure to watershed planning, restoration, or infrastructure resilience projects
