Value Engineering Lead
Job Summary:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent and 8-12 years of Electromechanical Product and Supply Chain experience. Execute VAVE/Cost Reduction/Cost Optimization projects. Coordinate with internal & external stakeholders & cross functional teams. Participate in internal & external meetings and reviews. Conduct peer reviews. Ensure milestone deliveries as per project schedule and with quality. Update project status and any important info/issue to relevant stakeholders in timely manner.
Ensure successful completion of project with customer review and acceptance/feedback.
Experience and
Skills Required:
Experience or awareness of VAVE (Value Engg.) methodology – Product overview and understanding of scope, constraints, expectations, Mfg region, Annual volume etc. Costed BOM Analysis (Multi-level BOM). Physical/Digital Product Teardown (Stripping down product to lowest level i.e., child-part level). Understanding functions of each part/sub-assembly, features and associated costs. Conduct brainstorming/ideation sessions – for generating cost reduction ideas. Ideas screening and ranking – Remove duplicate/impractical ideas and rank remaining ideas on certain parameters.
Technical evaluation of ideas (design/material/process change etc.). Cost saving estimation for ideas – Savings per part and annualized savings. Ability to study 3D Models and 2D drawings and other Engg. data. Ability to study and analyze Design requirements, Materials, Manufacturing Processes and identify Cost drivers. Hands on Design/CAD experience in parts made by Sheet Metal/Casting/Molding/Fabrication/Machining etc. Good understanding about above manufacturing processes.
Good communication and presentation skills. Good in MS Excel (Data analysis, Charts, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP etc.)
Experience with tools like FAST diagram, functional block diagram, Pareto charts, 5
