Field Project Manager

SMT Inc. seeks a Field Project Manager to lead installation, commissioning, and service projects for critical power systems supporting advanced electronics manufacturing. You will oversee site assessments, project planning, scheduling, and vendor coordination while ensuring uptime for SMT lines and related infrastructure. Responsibilities include managing budgets, technical documentation, risk mitigation, and customer communication. You will drive continuous improvement, enforce safety and quality standards, and mentor field technicians in a fast-paced, high-reliability EMS environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and execute field projects for critical power systems supporting SMT manufacturing operations.
• Conduct site assessments, define scope, develop schedules, and manage resources and subcontractors.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and upgrades of UPS, generators, and power distribution equipment.
• Monitor project budgets, timelines, and risks; implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety, electrical codes, and quality standards in all field activities.
• Serve as primary customer contact, providing status updates and managing expectations.
• Prepare and maintain technical and project documentation, reports, and as-built records.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to resolve technical issues.
• Drive continuous improvement in field processes, reliability, and response times.
• Mentor and coordinate field technicians, promoting a culture of accountability and precision.
