Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc. is seeking a Critical Lead Operating Engineer to oversee the reliable operation of complex building systems in high-profile commercial properties. In this role, you will lead the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of critical HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing infrastructure to ensure uptime, safety, and regulatory compliance. You will supervise engineering staff and vendors, manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and respond to critical alarms and emergencies.

The role partners closely with property management and clients to meet performance SLAs while driving energy efficiency, sustainability, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operation, monitoring, and maintenance of critical building systems (HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing).
  • Develop, implement, and refine preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
  • Respond to and resolve critical equipment alarms, emergencies, and after-hours incidents.
  • Supervise and mentor engineering staff and contractors, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and recommend system upgrades or repairs to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and JLL and client policies.
  • Manage work orders, documentation, asset records, and building management systems (BMS).
  • Support capital planning, budgeting, and vendor management for engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with property and facility management teams to meet client uptime and performance SLAs.
  • Drive energy efficiency, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives across building systems.
