Senior Bridge Inspector

HARDESTY&HANOVER seeks a Senior Bridge Inspector to join our Engineering & Maintenance team in the Engineering & Architecture industry. You will lead complex bridge inspections, structural evaluations, and detailed reporting to ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Working with multidisciplinary engineers, you'll plan and execute field inspections, assess deterioration, recommend repairs, and mentor junior staff. Located in the innovation hub of Cambridge, you'll contribute to dynamic, technology-enabled projects in a culture that values continuous learning, collaboration, and bold, client-focused solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform field inspections of bridges and related structures
• Evaluate structural condition, deterioration, and safety risks
• Prepare detailed inspection reports, photos, and repair recommendations
• Ensure compliance with NBIS and other applicable standards
• Plan and coordinate inspection schedules, access, and traffic control with stakeholders
• Mentor and guide junior inspectors and engineers in field and office tasks
• Collaborate with engineering teams on load ratings and rehabilitation strategies
• Use digital tools and software to document findings and support analysis
• Promote and enforce strict safety practices on all inspection sites
• Engage with clients, agencies, and contractors to communicate findings and solutions
