Position: Professional Engineer (PE) – Mechanical or Electrical
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $110k - $140k yearly including benefits
About the PositionWe are expanding our presence in Raleigh, NC
, with a newly established satellite office. We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate may have a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background and will play an important role in supporting engineering projects and the continued growth of the Raleigh office.
While we are primarily targeting early- to mid-career professionals, we are open to candidates with varying levels of experience. The PE license is the primary requirement for this position.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional engineering support for projects and technical initiatives.
- Review, develop, and approve engineering designs and documentation.
- Apply engineering principles, codes, standards, and best practices to project work.
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, project teams, and clients as needed.
- Provide technical guidance and engineering oversight.
- Support project planning, execution, and quality control.
- Assist with the development and review of engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports.
- Serve as a licensed Professional Engineer responsible for applicable engineering work in accordance with North Carolina requirements.
- Contribute to the growth and development of BKM’s Raleigh office.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Engineering experience in a relevant industry or technical environment.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, applicable codes, and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small, growing team.
- Must be a North Carolina resident and able to work from the Raleigh office.
- Experience in mechanical or electrical engineering design.
- Experience reviewing and/or approving engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with engineering software and design tools.
- Experience working in a consulting, design, manufacturing, or project-based engineering environment.
