This opportunity entails being responsible for providing planning support from concept development through project completion including researching, gathering, and analyzing data, preparing project materials, and applying environmental laws and regulations, to ensure compliance on behalf of the client.
Our Raleigh, NC and Charleston/Columbia, SC office locations are seeking Summer 2027 interns for the Environmental Planning group.
Relocation and housing are not provided for this position.
What You’ll Do- Assists project team members with various support tasks.
- Conducts basic research and data collection.
- Maintains records, collections and files related to specific projects.
- Assist in the development of graphics, presentation materials and reports.
- Performs other duties assigned.
- Enrolled in a related undergraduate or graduate program
- GIS map development
- Analysis of demographic and environmental data
- Environmental report preparation in accordance with CEQA and NEPA requirements
- Calculating environmental impacts related to transportation projects
Technical report development with emphasis on environmental resource(s) - Technical writing and summarizing technical reports for environmental documentation
- Field work, data gathering and research
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office:
Word, Excel and Power Point - Proficiency with GIS tools
- Knowledge of CEQA, NEPA and other state and federal environmental regulations
- Regulatory permitting experience
