Responsibilities
  • Supervise employees and help delegate operations schedules to ensure proper work area coverage.
  • Evaluate the performance of personnel and inspect assigned areas to ensure proper work performance. This includes hands-on support and the ability to perform work when necessary (e.g., dust mopping, sweeping, stripping/refinishing, carpet scrubbing, servicing restrooms, window washing).
  • Identify and define problems, resolve issues, and use these insights to make appropriate recommendations to management, staff, and/or customer contacts to support continuous quality improvement and exceed customer expectations.
  • Report any issues, concerns or discrepancies to the Operations Manager/Operations Coordinator.
  • Address customer concerns and inquiries and report any new or changing job/work orders.
  • Track and evaluate purchasing activities, supply and equipment usage and repairs. Ensure labeling, dilution, and storage requirements comply with company, customer, and OSHA standards.
  • Provide on-the-job training for staff to job-specific tasks.
  • Participate in company and customer training to ensure effective communication and distribution of information to supervisors, customers and employees.
  • Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies, customer rules and regulations and applicable laws when needed.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and high customer demand.
  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in maintenance work.
  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to lead others and motivate people.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team; effective communication with people at all levels of an organization.
  • Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word) plus Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish desired.
Education and Work Experience
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three to five years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in the janitorial/facilities field.
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced office environment.
  • Safety glasses required while performing certain tasks.
  • High sense of urgency.
  • Small office environment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Exposed to a combination of normal office-type environments and shop environments.
  • Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise.
Requirements
  • Clean DMV record.
  • Pass criminal background screening.
Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear.

Physical requirements include stooping, standing, climbing and frequent lifting of a minimum of 40 lbs. of office and facilities equipment. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
