The Director of Finance is responsible for the operational leadership of the Club’s financial functions. This role oversees budgeting, forecasting, accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance, while serving as a key business partner to executive leadership. The Director of Finance ensures financial integrity, optimizes financial performance, and provides data-driven insights to support organizational decision-making.
Supervisory Responsibilities- Recruits, hires, trains and manages the Finance team
- Conduct annual performance reviews and coaches our financial team on a daily basis
- Identify professional development opportunities for the Finance team
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the Club’s goals and long-term plans.
- Advise executive leadership on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Partner with department leaders to support operational planning, cost management, and financial accountability.
- Provide financial guidance for contracts, pricing, capital projects, and major initiatives.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly reforecasting.
- Prepare and present financial models, variance analyses, and scenario planning to support strategic initiatives.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (or applicable accounting standards).
- Prepare reports for leadership, boards, lenders, and other stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, tax requirements, and reporting obligations.
- Coordinate audits and serve as primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, and credit facilities.
- Oversee investment strategies, debt management, and capital planning, as applicable.
- Evaluate and improve financial systems, processes, and reporting tools to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead implementation and optimization of ERP, accounting software, and financial dashboards.
- Leads finance committee meetings and is an engaged thought partner of the committees and Board of Governors.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required.
Master’s degree (MBA, MAcc) or CPA/CMA preferred.
8–12 years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including leadership responsibility.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Demonstrated experience with financial modeling, data analysis, and strategic planning.
Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
High level of integrity, discretion, and judgment.
Proficiency with financial systems and advanced Excel skills; ERP experience strongly preferred.
Work Environment &Physical Requirements
Primarily office-based with standard business hours; additional hours may be required during peak periods (budgeting, audits, year-end close).
Ability to sit for extended periods and use standard office equipment.
Walking around the club campus
