This is a high-impact leadership role within a growing manufacturing company that is expanding its footprint and transitioning to a more professional, growth-oriented environment. The Controller will take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations, lead the month-end close process, and support budgeting, forecasting, and ERP system implementation. The role offers long-term growth potential, including succession planning for the CFO.
Key Responsibilities- Lead financial operations, including invoicing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, cost accounting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, and reconciliations
- Manage and optimize month-end and year-end close processes
- Deliver monthly reporting packages, EBITDA bridge analysis, and variance reporting
- Establish and enforce financial policies and procedures
- Monitor financial performance through analysis of spending, variances, and trends
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers, providing timely documentation and support
- Prepare and manage budgets and forecasts, including data collection and analysis
- Support financial planning and analysis to inform business decisions
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
- Oversee monthly and annual inventory counts
- Participate in strategic projects and broader finance initiatives
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA preferred but not required
- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience in manufacturing accounting, including bill of materials and inventory management
- Proven success in audits, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Hands-on, team-oriented, and comfortable in a lean environment
- Experience with ERP systems and process improvement
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Demonstrated stability in previous roles and interest in long-term growth
