You will be the main point of contact for all financial transactions, responsible for accounting, budgeting, auditing, reporting, and grants administration, as well as financial and compliance oversight related to Center membership and industry relations.
You will support a portfolio primarily funded through sponsored research, with additional funding that may include F&A, state appropriations, receipt-generated, and foundation accounts. You will partner with Center leadership, faculty, college and university offices, and external partners to provide clear, accurate financial guidance, manage competing priorities, and independently resolve complex financial and operational issues.
Key Responsibilities fall within the following functional areas:
- Financial Oversight, Budgeting & Forecasting:
Direct Center financial operations; monitor, reconcile, and manage budgets across multiple funding sources - Develop financial summaries and forecasts; lead regular financial reviews with Center leadership and the College of Engineering Business Office
- Ensure financial accuracy, transparency, and alignment with Center and college priorities
- Pre- and Post-Award Management & Compliance:
Manage the full sponsored research lifecycle, including proposal support, award setup, project management, and close-out - Maintain proposal and award records; support budget development for PIs
- Oversee PMRs, cost share setups, effort reporting, and compliance with sponsor, federal, and institutional requirements
- Financial Reporting & Annual Report Preparation:
Prepare and analyze standard and ad hoc financial reports for internal and external stakeholders - Develop financial tables and supporting documentation for the Center's Annual Report
- Compile and deliver requested financial information for audits, reviews, and planning efforts
- Other Financial Operations Duties:
Process journal vouchers, audit payroll transactions, and monitor sub-awards and sub-accounts - Serve as a liaison to university offices and external partners involved in financial and research administration
- Oversee financial and compliance activities related to Center membership and industry relations
