Job Description
As a Senior Financial Crimes Client Risk Specialist, you would support the AML Compliance function by executing various processes that maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and the firm's AML Program. You will provide data analysis and complex problem solving within the area/department and assist in the execution of the firm's Customer Due Diligence and Enhanced Due Diligence programs, including the review of high-risk customer information.

- Responsible for accurately evaluating client information and taking appropriate action to protect the firm against the risk of money laundering activities in accordance with global and local regulatory policy and procedures.
- Review potential clients to determine their risk rank and identify clients/prospects outside of the risk appetite of the firm; perform research through internal systems, online public and subscription based resources to complete client reviews and to come to informed conclusions.
- Assess AML risk, and corroborate information obtained at onboarding against independent sources; evaluate potential relevant adverse information and verification of outside vendor records. Perform in-depth investigations, including periodic enhanced due diligence of high risk customers as required, and provide analysis of findings in written format.
- Prepare concise, yet thorough, summaries outlining relevant details to support client risk classifications as well as for AML‑related recommendations. Assist in data gathering and compilation of information to support various reporting obligations.
- Initiate communication and elevate situations as necessary. Apply logic and AML knowledge to reviews on a case‑by‑case basis, recognizing the subjective nature of each individual situation.
- Continually increase knowledge of AML, including being familiar with AML risks presented to the firm in order to address questions and present information to business partners.
- Provide oversight and support for negative news reviews for new and existing clients including potential high‑risk clients and politically exposed persons, including review, resolution, and recommendations.
- Bachelor's degree and 2–4 years of experience in a financial services/banking environment, with specific experience in AML or Compliance.
- Knowledge of regulatory/compliance risk management and AML related requirements including BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC, and other applicable U.S. regulations.
- Strong research, writing and analytic skills.
- Self‑starter; willingness to take the initiative.
- Ability to effectively access AML risk and elevate to senior management.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, Word applications.
- CAMs designation preferred.
