Controller, Finance & Banking, Financial Reporting

We are recruiting a Controller for a fast-growing, early-stage company in the Raleigh area. This role will lead the accounting operations and help build a scalable financial foundation. This is a hands on, high-impact role for someone who enjoys full ownership from close to controls to cross-functional partnership.

• Lead and own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely, GAAP-compliant financial reporting
• Manage core accounting operations including GL, accruals, reconciliations, deferred revenue, and internal controls
• Oversee SaaS revenue recognition across multiple contract types, including subscriptions, usage-based billing, and delayed-start agreements
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Account Management, and Implementation teams to align contract terms with accounting treatment
• Reconcile CRM, signed contracts, billing data, and financial systems to ensure revenue accuracy and integrity
• Improve accounting systems, billing workflows, and financial data flow between CRM and finance tools
• Collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, and budget-vs-actual tracking over time
• Support audit readiness, due diligence, and financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders
• Work closely with external tax and accounting advisors to ensure compliance and scalability
• Contribute to broader finance leadership and strategy as the company continues to grow.

• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience preferred
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and SaaS revenue recognition principles
• Experience working across departments to improve data accuracy and process efficiency
• CPA is preferred
