Financial Controller

Overview

The Controller will lead all accounting and financial reporting functions and serve as a key partner to our executive team. • Oversee all accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, job costing, inventory, and general ledger.
• Produce accurate, timely monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Manage the month-end close process to ensure accuracy and consistency.

• Assist in annual budgeting and financial planning processes.
• Build rolling forecasts to help leadership anticipate revenue, expenses, and cash needs.
• Monitor and manage cash flow daily; provide forward-looking insights and recommendations.
• Evaluate pricing, labor, and overhead impacts on margins.

• Implement and refine job-costing processes to ensure accurate profitability reporting by department and location.
• Work closely with operations leadership to understand drivers of profitability and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Ensure internal controls are effective and scalable.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and applicable state/federal requirements.
• Lead improvements in accounting systems and processes; streamline workflows for efficiency.
• Oversee external audits, tax preparation, and acquisition integration.
• Support QA across all software systems including financial reporting, payroll, CRM, and field software.

• Manage and develop a small finance/accounting team.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to ownership and leadership, translating financial insights into actionable recommendations.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).
• Experience: 7+ years of progressive accounting experience; at least 2 years in a Controller or similar leadership role.

  Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and cash-flow management. Proficiency with accounting systems (Quick Books experience preferred). Experience with service management platforms is a plus.
