The Part-Time Financial Aid Information Assistant serves as the first point of contact for students and families seeking financial aid guidance. This role provides accurate and timely information about financial aid programs, supports outreach activities to promote financial literacy, and ensures a welcoming and informative experience for all visitors. The Assistant also plays a key role in fostering student success by encouraging access to and understanding financial aid resources.

Responsibilities- Deliver exemplary customer service to prospective and current students who contact the financial aid office by phone or email (anticipated 50% phone call center support, 25% email, 25% in-person front desk or virtual appointments).
- Offer clear and concise information on financial aid processes, including FAFSA completion, loan options, grants, and scholarships.
- Guide students through financial aid forms and applications, ensuring all required documentation is submitted.
- Offer support to students facing challenges related to financial aid eligibility or deadlines.
- Inform, advise, and assist students with financial aid applications, documents, programs, and procedures.
- Provide support for the financial aid outreach team for staffing front desk, call center, or virtual appointments as needed.
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs.
- Exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others.
- Able to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently.
- Good organizational skills.
- Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of customer service experience.
- Experience in a Community College setting.
- Experience with financial aid, or closely related field.
- Experience with Colleague software.
