Credit Risk Review Advisor - Commercial Lending

As a Credit Risk Review Advisor within PNC’s Independent Risk Management organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh PA, Cleveland OH, Philadelphia PA, Birmingham AL, Charlotte NC, Wilmington DE, or Raleigh NC.

The primary objective of the Credit Risk Review (CRR) is to conduct timely and independent assessments of PNC’s credit exposures and credit risk. Results are provided to senior management and PNC’s Risk Committee of the Board of Directors. In this role, you will independently assess sampled borrowers of moderate complexity, evaluate risk rating accuracy, underwriting quality, ongoing monitoring and policy compliance, identify emerging risks and trends, and produce well‑supported documentation and recommendations in collaboration with internal partners.

• Execute file review assessments on moderately complex credit and credit‑related transactions, including credit facility structures and underwriting processes, within the context of credit policies and procedures.
• Understand inherent risk and the materiality of risk for credit transactions, validate scorecard risk ratings, and borrower credit administration.
• Ensure understanding of portfolio issues, trends, and root causes to manage credit portfolios effectively.
• Complete work papers and supporting documentation, follow up on exam findings with the business with minimal guidance, and effectively communicate credit risk review plans and objectives.
• Apply a robust understanding of the credit cycle and economic indicators' impact on key driving metrics, leveraging industry and economic research tools.

Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for this role, including:

• Robust credit knowledge and strong experience in commercial credit extension and management.
• 5+ years of Credit Risk or Credit Underwriting experience, particularly with larger, more complex transactions in Commercial & Industrial, CRE, Corporate Banking, Leveraged Lending, and Middle‑Market segments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to handle difficult conversations with stakeholders.

Roles at this level typically require a university or college degree, with 5+ years of industry‑relevant experience. Specific certifications may be required. A comparable combination of education, job‑specific certification(s), and experience, including military service, may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Base Salary: $87,500.00 – $. Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with compensation based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
