Overview

The Business Manager for Heart and Vascular Services is responsible for the non‑clinical functions of the Heart and Vascular Service Line, managing financial activities including reporting, budget preparation, analysis, projections, proformas, revenue and expense accounting, inventory and supply management, and ensuring charge capture, reconciliation and billing accuracy. The role collaborates with leadership, Senior Financial Specialists, and cross‑disciplinary teams to plan, implement, and execute projects that enhance operational efficiency and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage financial activities: reporting, budget preparation, analysis, projections, proformas, revenue and expense accounting.
  • Oversee inventory and supply management to achieve 100% charge capture, reconcile billing, and maintain accurate billing records.
  • Work with the Executive Director to meet fiscal responsibilities and manage the charge master to reflect proper Medicare and Medicaid billing practices.
  • Collaborate with Heart and Vascular Services leadership and Senior Financial Specialists to plan, implement, and complete projects across the system, nursing, and other disciplines.
  • Maintain readiness for the Joint Commission, DHSR and other regulatory requirements necessary for Medicare and Medicaid certification and licensure.
  • Supervise the Reimbursement Analyst, review daily billing charges, and provide feedback to leadership.
  • Maintain and update the system‑wide charge master; analyze productivity and recommend improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in patient safety and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with Heart Care Plus Collaborative projects, such as Cary PCI.
  • Generate monthly reports on financial performance, productivity, patient experience scores, and statistical analysis.

Certified Internal Auditor (preferred), Certified Management Accountant (preferred), Certified Public Accountant (preferred).

Education

Bachelor’s Degree (required).
