We're seeking a Collections Specialist to join a growing financial services organization. In this role, you'll work directly with customers to resolve delinquent accounts, develop payment solutions, and help minimize financial risk while delivering a professional, service-oriented customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contact customers by phone, email, text, and other communication channels regarding past-due loan accounts
  • Identify the causes of delinquency and work collaboratively with customers to establish repayment plans or other resolution options
  • Assist with loss mitigation efforts, including escalated collection activities and account recovery
  • Provide guidance on financial resources and payment solutions that help customers improve their long-term financial stability
  • Accurately document customer interactions, payment arrangements, and account activity in internal systems
  • Maintain productivity and quality standards while managing a high-volume workload
  • Partner with internal teams to support collection, recovery, and loss prevention initiatives
  • Monitor delinquency trends and assist with reporting and account management activities
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, company policies, and industry standards

Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in consumer loan collections or a related financial services environment.
  • Knowledge of consumer lending, collections practices, and applicable regulations, including bankruptcy and consumer protection laws.
  • Ability to review and interpret personal financial statements, tax returns, and credit reports.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable learning multiple business systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
