Vice Provost for Budget and Business Operations

NC State University is hiring a Vice Provost for Budget and Business Operations who will provide executive leadership and strategic oversight for the financial and business operations of the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost. The role involves leading budget planning, financial management, resource allocation, expenditure oversight, and long-range fiscal strategy, while collaborating with university leadership to align financial resources with institutional priorities.

• Serve as chief business officer for the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost.
• Lead financial planning, budget management, and expenditure oversight for multiple funding sources.
• Provide monthly financial reports to the Provost and oversee distribution of funds.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and university units to align resources with strategic priorities.
• Oversee Budget and Business Operations unit, supporting central business and HR services across several academic and administrative units.
• Co-chair the Education Technology Fee Committee and participate in university budget-related committees.
• Require proficiency with ERP systems, financial/budget management software, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.
• Minimum of a post-baccalaureate degree with 3+ years related experience or undergraduate degree with 5+ years relevant experience.
• Experience navigating complex financial and organizational challenges in higher education, with leadership and team development skills.
• Valid North Carolina driver s license required; preferred experience with People Soft Financials.
