Acquisition Associate

A leading private investment firm is looking to add an Acquisitions Associate to its investment team in Raleigh.

The firm is an established investor with a strong track record of sourcing, underwriting, and executing investments across the lower middle market. The Associate will work closely with senior investment professionals across the full investment lifecycle, with significant exposure to live transactions and direct interaction with management teams and advisors.

• Evaluate and underwrite new investment opportunities from initial review through closing
• Build and analyze detailed financial models and investment cases
• Conduct company, industry, and market research to support investment decisions
• Lead due diligence processes and coordinate with external advisors
• Prepare investment committee materials and present findings to senior team members
• Support deal execution, including valuation, structuring, and negotiations
• Develop relationships with business owners, executives, intermediaries, and other deal sources

• 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or a similar transaction-focused role
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
• Experience working on M&A or investment transactions
• Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation, and transaction mechanics
• Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a lean, entrepreneurial environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
