Position Overview

The Manager, Rebate Administration is responsible for overseeing the administration, validation, calculation, and payment of commercial rebates. This role ensures compliance with contractual obligations, government regulations, and internal policies while supporting accurate financial reporting and forecasting. The manager partners closely with Market Access, Finance, Government Pricing, Contracting, Compliance, Legal, external rebate processing vendors, and external customers to optimize rebate operations and minimize financial risk.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with CVS/ZINC, including rebate administration, claim or utilization data, contract terms, invoice/settlement processes, reconciliation, and issue resolution. The candidate should be comfortable operating at the intersection of healthcare contracting, financial analysis, data management, and operational execution.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities

Rebate Operations Management
  • Lead the end-to-end administration of payor rebate programs, including commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and specialty pharmacy rebate arrangements.
  • Complete formulary validation activities across all contracted payers, ensuring accuracy and alignment with rebate eligibility requirements for an expanding product portfolio.
  • Review and validate rebate payment packages to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contractual terms and internal controls.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing, validation, and payment of rebate claims.
  • Investigate and resolve rebate disputes, discrepancies, and payment issues.
Contract Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure rebate payments comply with executed payer agreements and internal controls.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Market Access teams to interpret contract language and implement rebate methodologies.
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining proper documentation and responding to audit requests.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable healthcare regulations and industry standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Contract Operations, Market Access, Government Pricing, Finance, and external rebate vendors.
  • Support new contract implementations and product launches by developing rebate operational requirements.
  • Partner with IT and data management teams to improve rebate system functionality and automation.
Leadership
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and enhanced controls within rebate administration and contract management workflows.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Foster a culture of compliance, collaboration, and customer service.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, JD) preferred.
