This position is responsible for:
Plans, organizes, and directs the finance department of the Area Command; receives and deposits monies in designated bank accounts; oversees and directs general accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, and budgetary controls; produces financial reports and projections on both routine and as requested basis; analyzes and reports operational results to the Area Commander and makes recommendations as needed.
- Plans, directs, and supervises the work of assigned staff; trains employees on proper procedures and methods; monitors work in progress and completed work to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with established standards.
- Oversees the reconciliation of all Area Command bank accounts to ensure accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Manages the financial operations of the Area Command, including the preparation and oversight of financial reports that summarize and forecast income, expenses, and overall financial performance for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyzes and interprets financial and accounting data to evaluate operating results, monitor budget performance, and assess the fiscal health and operational effectiveness of the organization.
- Provides guidance and support to Area Commanders and Department Directors in the development and management of departmental budgets, including the proper allocation and posting of income and expenses.
- Assists with and oversees accounting and financial functions as needed, including account reconciliations, grant billing, financial reporting, and other duties necessary to ensure the efficient operation of the Finance Department.

- Ability to read and interpret financial information to provide operating results and forecasts which can be used for development planning and long-range planning.
Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Work is usually performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like, but not limited to the office environment.

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or related field, and
- Five years’ of experience responsible performing financial and accounting duties, with prior experience/training in governmental and/or non-profit accounting, and five years supervisory experience,
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certified Public Accountant - Certifications:
Valid State Driver’s License - One or more financial certifications (or the ability to obtain within an established timeframe)
