Summary

As a Program Analyst, you will be responsible for providing analysis of a variety of subject matter relating to the effectiveness of assigned program operations and assist in planning and evaluating a variety of projects.

Duties Location of position

This position is can be located in any GSA office. We are currently filling one vacancy. Candidates will be considered based on the duty location(s) selected in their application, and referrals will be made for specific duty locations based on the location of the vacancy being filled. Additional vacancies may be filled from this announcement as needed.

GS-07 Duties
  • Under close supervision and assistance as required, analyzing the issues in the assignment, then selecting and applying accepted analytical techniques such as task analysis, work simplification, workflow charts, workload measurement and management and organizational practices to determine the most effective methodology needed to meet program goals and milestones.
  • Learning the scope and foundation of agency administrative and program activities; agency missions, policies, and objectives; and management principles and processes to serve as a program analyst to management on the evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of GSA government programs.
  • Using basic qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to research and gather narrative and/or statistical information and applicable work methods and procedures to meet deadlines and carry out the successive steps in fact-finding and analysis of issues necessary to complete each phase of assigned limited, conventional work/projects.
  • Under close supervision and assistance as required, applying basic analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature.
  • Identifying and developing data required for use by higher level analysts in the management and direction of programs.
GS-09 Duties
  • Analyzing the issues in the assignment, then selecting and applying accepted analytical techniques such as task analysis, work simplification, work-flow charts, workload measurement and management and organizational practices to determine the most efficient way to organize work.
  • Learning the scope and foundation of agency administrative and program activities; agency missions, policies, and objectives; and management principles and processes to serve as an analyst to management on the evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of government programs.
  • Using qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to research and gather narrative and/or statistical information and applicable work methods and procedures to meet deadlines and carry out the successive steps in fact-finding and analysis of issues necessary to complete each phase of assigned work/projects.
  • Applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature. The issues deal with readily observable conditions and written guidelines covering work methods and procedures.
  • Identifying and developing data required for use in the management and direction of programs.
Requirements Conditions of employment
  • US Citizenship or National (Residents of American Samoa and Swains Island)
  • Meet all eligibility criteria within 30 days of the closing date
  • Meet time-in-grade within 30 days of the closing date, if applicable
  • Register with Selective Service if you are a male born after 12/31/1959
  • Direct Deposit of salary check to financial organization required.
