OSA thoroughly investigates alleged cases of fraud, waste, and abuse of taxpayer dollars, working with law enforcement on prosecution when warranted.
Description of Work
The Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is seeking a Senior Auditor to serve within our Financial Audit Division. This position will assist with various financial audits performed on entities across state government, including institutions of higher education.
As part of our team, you will get to:
- Assist in planning the entire audit process under the supervision of an audit manager
- Assist in the coaching and mentoring of Financial Audit staff
- Lead and conduct on-site fieldwork, including gaining an understanding of internal controls
- Review accounting transactions and perform test procedures on more complex audit areas
- Help in reviewing work papers prepared by audit teams
- Prepare and review audit reports and findings
- Interact with client management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to develop and follow work plans, apply sampling techniques, design test procedures, and assist others in designing
Solicits ideas and suggestions from team members
Ability to follow audit, review, and investigation procedures as planned, offer suggestions for improvements to work papers, review work for completeness and accuracy, and ensures work papers are clear and understandable
