** Description of Work
** Do you enjoy our state parks and want to be a part of planning the future of the North Carolina State Park system? The NC State Parks is seeking a State Parks Planner to join the planning program team and develop master plans, general management plans, concept plans, graphically conveying ideas and decisions needed to improve or expand park facilities for visitor use, staff operations and preservation of natural resources.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:  
· Preparing and updating general management plans.  
· Preparing and updating master plans, conceptual plans and site plans for new and existing units.  
· Supervise/coordinate contracted planning services for new and existing units.  
· Coordinating with other programs throughout the Division and with external interested parties on park plans.  
· Conducting comprehensive, long-range planning for the State Parks System, including preparation of the Systemwide Plan.  
· Developing master plans, general management plans, concept plans, graphically conveying ideas and decisions needed to improve or expand park facilities for visitor use, staff operations and preservation of natural resources.  
· Supervise temporary and permanent employees, volunteers, interns and consultants.  
· Assist the Park Planning Program Manager in the preparation of other special planning projects, as needed.
