Department: Orthopaedic Surgery Center of Panther Creek
Patient Account Liaison – Full-Time Position – Panther Creek LocationWe are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Patient Account Liaison to join our Panther Creek team. This role is responsible for coordinating patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and providing financial counseling prior to surgery. The position also supports billing, collections, and front desk operations as needed.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong accounts receivable and patient collections experience, especially within orthopaedics or a surgical specialty environment.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate patient scheduling, registration, and insurance verification
- Provide financial counseling to patients and families regarding charges, deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance prior to date of service
- Educate patients on insurance benefits for upcoming procedures
- Prepare payment agreements and obtain required signatures
- Collect and post patient coinsurance payments
- Establish and monitor payment plans for uninsured or underinsured patients
- Evaluate eligibility for self-pay discounts and charity care programs
- Review patient account credits and process refunds as appropriate
Contact insurance carriers and third-party administrators to verify coverage and benefits - Assist with patient balance collections
- Support billing department with posting insurance and patient payments
- Provide front desk and operational support as needed
- Prepare reports and assist with special projects
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, safety guidelines, and attendance policies
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office environment required
- Considerable experience in accounts receivable and patient collections required
- Experience with professional or facility claims in orthopaedics or surgical specialty strongly preferred
- Experience with face-to-face patient interaction and insurance payer communication required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Full medical, dental, and vision coverage with FSA and HSA options
