Wake Med’s MRI Technologist Apprenticeship gives you the rare chance to float across all three of our hospital campuses, learning side-by-side with experienced MRI Technologists who love to teach and genuinely want to see you thrive.

What You ll Be DoingYou’ll jump right into the action, supporting our MRI teams across a variety of clinical environments. Under the direct supervision of licensed MRI technologists and physicians, you will:
- Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images of designated body areas
- Deliver patient care that’s timely, professional, efficient, and safe, reflecting the Wake Way in everything you do
- Gain hands-on experience in the hospital
- Build confidence working with trauma, emergency, inpatient, and outpatient populations
- Grow clinically through exposure to diverse cases, workflows, and experienced mentors

- Currently enrolled in an accredited MRI Technology program
- Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program OR Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine Technology program
- Certified Radiologic Technologist OR Certified Nuclear Medicine Technology
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A passion for patient care and learning
- A desire to grow in a fast-paced, supportive environment
