Support Professional - Personal Health Care

TDAS is seeking friendly, outgoing, and reliable individuals to support adults with physical disabilities who have personal healthcare needs in Wake and Orange Counties (Raleigh, Wake Forest, Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Hillsborough).

• Primarily weekdays, Monday through Friday: 30–40 hours per week between hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
• Some weekend availability needed between hours of 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

• Providing one-on-one direct care support to adults in the home and community
• Providing transportation using the individual’s wheelchair-accessible van
• Assisting with personal hands-on care, including dressing, hygiene, mobility support, G-tube feedings, and medication administration
• Completing timely and detailed documentation in an electronic health record (EHR) system

• Be comfortable communicating with and supporting individuals with receptive language and limited verbal communication
• Have an outgoing, positive personality!
• Demonstrate the ability to remain calm and composed in a variety of situations

• At least eighteen (18) years of age;
  High school diploma (or equivalent)
• Experience supporting individuals with personal and healthcare needs required.
• Pass background screening including criminal record, driving record, and drug testing (this is not a pre-employment requirement)
• Ability to transfer person of approximately 100 lbs. without assistance of a lift.

• Work involves talking, hearing, sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing stairs, using hands to handle objects or operate tools, and driving a vehicle.
• Work required: ability to push, pull, lift or carry, physically transfer individuals, and perform CPR / First Aid.
