Duke Raleigh Hospital

Duke Raleigh Hospital features 204 inpatient beds and offers a comprehensive array of services, including cancer, cardiovascular, neuroscience, advanced gastrointestinal, and wound healing care.

General Description

Provide collaborative operational and administrative oversight of perioperative services to drive financial excellence and clinical quality.

Shift

Five, 8‑hour shifts per week, start times discussed during interview.

Job Duties
  • Direct financial performance of perioperative services including interpreting annual supply budgets and partnership with clinicians, supply chain/value analysis in the identification of cost‑effective alternatives, product evaluation and standardization.
  • Drive operational efficiency through process improvement, resource optimization and standardization, including oversight of OR scheduling and utilization.
  • Apply lean principles to drive PI, eliminate waste, optimize OR throughput and enhance patient/staff satisfaction.
  • Ensure adherence to accreditation and regulatory standards while leading quality and safety improvement efforts.
  • Serve as liaison among system periop leadership, local executive leadership team, nursing, anesthesia and other key stakeholders to align goals and resolve issues.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Experience with supply chain optimization, labor productivity and cost containment strategies in a healthcare environment.
Minimum Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
    Master’s in Hospital Administration or Business Administration preferred.
Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, managing, and tracking departmental or program budgets.
  • Experience preparing detailed budget proposals and narrative justifications to support funding requests.
  • Ability to monitor, review, and reconcile expenses to ensure fiscal compliance and responsible stewardship of funds.
  • Proficiency in analyzing financial reports and identifying variances.
  • Supervisory experience for perioperative services.
  • Operational Excellence Frameworks.
  • Strategic Planning intended to drive performance optimization.
Licensures or Certifications
  • Lean/Six Sigma Certification.
  • Opera Professional Specialty Certification.
