Overview

The Banquet Server is responsible for understanding Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), setting up and breaking down event spaces, and providing Food & Beverage service in accordance with health and hotel standards. The role ensures that the hotel consistently exceeds guest and client expectations through organization, communication, and professionalism.

Essential Job Functions
  • Complete all food service training within 14 days of hire; other essential training and certification within 30 days, including CPR.
  • Read and understand BEOs in detail and organize staff to fulfill the order.
  • Set up event areas 15 minutes prior to start time, ensuring 100% readiness.
  • Provide F&B service and directions, maintaining health department and hotel standards.
  • Monitor food and beverage service timeliness as specified by the BEO.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing work areas for guests and team members.
  • Handle safe storage of equipment and maintain beverage stations.
  • Use Point of Sale (POS) system to monitor voids and “no sale” transactions.
  • Assist in other hotel work areas as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Report maintenance needs and assist in keeping facilities in like-new condition.
  • Participate in training and meetings to enhance skills and productivity.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Be aware of, act on, and report any issue that affects the safety of guests or team members.
  • Look for ways to continuously refine and improve service standards.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and proper uniform standards.
  • Wear non-slip shoes for safety.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED (desired but not essential).
  • Prior experience in food service supervision, hospitality, or banquet service preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with guests and team members.
  • Ability to read and write English and perform basic math calculations.
  • Calm and organized under multiple demands; follows directions accurately.
  • Good physical stamina: able to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds overhead, and work in hot or cold environments.
Physical/Mental Demands

Standing, walking, carrying, and working in hot, cold, or wet environments. Ability to lean, bend, kneel, and lift heavy objects. Requires sustained focus for extended periods.
