Role Summary

Our client, a large enterprise organization with a recently implemented Workday environment, is seeking a Senior Workday Security Administrator to serve as the final addition to its HRIS team. This role owns the administration, optimization, and governance of Workday security configuration across multiple functional areas. The position partners closely with HR, IT, audit, and business stakeholders to ensure data integrity, compliance, and scalable security design while supporting ongoing enhancements and system maturity.

The role requires deep Workday security expertise and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, regulated environment with a strong emphasis on documentation, audit readiness, and stakeholder collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Workday security roles, groups, domains, and access controls aligned with organizational policies.
  • Design and manage custom security roles, permissions, and domain configurations to support current and future business needs.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HRIS security policies, procedures, and governance standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve security-related access issues and unexpected system behavior.
  • Partner with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to translate security and compliance requirements into best‑practice Workday solutions.
  • Support internal and external SOX audits by providing documentation and ensuring compliance with access and change management controls.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of security configurations, processes, and issue resolution.
  • Provide internal client support including reporting, dashboard development, data access troubleshooting, and system enhancements.
  • Support HR initiatives through program and project management assistance, including rollout of new and enhanced HR programs.
  • Ensure ongoing data integrity and participate in HRIS data audits and security cleanup efforts.
  • Participate in Workday migrations, enhancements, and working sessions.
  • Stay current on Workday functionality and HRIS trends through Workday Community participation, training, and user groups.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, HRIS, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on Workday experience across multiple functional areas, including HCM, Benefits, Security, Absence, Time Tracking, and Reporting.
  • 3–5 years of experience implementing and configuring Workday security, including business process security and integration security groups.
  • Strong expertise in role-based and user-based security, including custom security domains and permissions management.
  • Experience configuring Authentication Policies, Single Sign-On (SSO), and Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA).
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis and reporting, including custom reports and dashboards using Workday Report Writer, calculated fields, and advanced Excel.
  • Advanced experience with Workday EIBs, including template generation, data population, and loading.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills.
  • Proven experience working with highly confidential and sensitive data.
  • Strong documentation, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Workday Security certification.
  • Consulting or advisory experience supporting Workday clients.
Compensation & Work Model
  • Direct‑hire, full‑time position.
  • Hybrid schedule with onsite work required four days per week.
  • Full relocation assistance is available.
  • Employer is prepared to assume existing H-1B visas; OPT EAD candidates cannot be considered.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
