The DICOM Migration Engineer is responsible for the successful installation, control, and monitoring of all DICOM data migration projects. The individual works with internal teams and Healthcare IT/informatics departments at large hospitals and institutions. All work is performed remotely.

The position requires an individual with a technical understanding of DICOM, databases, Medical Imaging, the Microsoft Office Suite, networking, and Healthcare IT in general.

It also requires detailed organization, documentation, and verbal communication skills. The firm has long-term roots in the Healthcare IT space, continues to experience aggressive growth, and provides an exciting opportunity for talented individuals.

The primary duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop proficiency in the company's software solutions, solution methodologies, and core technologies.
  • Implement proprietary software to support DICOM, HL7, and medical image migrations
  • Utilize proprietary software tools, in conjunction with MS Access and SQL, to implement data migration projects.
  • Verify software modifications, changes, and enhancements, and submit test results findings to the software development team
  • Maintain and update internal database, outlining all interactions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Create process optimization improvements to enhance the department and its offerings.
  • Respond to customer inquiries quickly and maintain excellent customer service.
  • Participate in conference calls as the Project Manager to discuss project status with the customer.
  • Monitor, maintain, and ensure migration projects are progressing appropriately.
  • Review and analyze software and hardware needs for upcoming projects
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of all Migration services provided and be prepared to implement at customer facilities
Technical Requirements
  • Strong understanding of DICOM and HL7
  • Strong understanding of PACS
  • Excellent proficiency with Access and SQL
  • Excellent understanding of Windows Operating Systems (Server 2003/2008/etc.)
  • Excellent understanding of generic networking technology (Hardware and Software)
  • Knowledge of computer HW (Drives, memory, CPU, storage)
  • Excellent proficiency with all Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Strong understanding of remote monitoring technologies (Citrix, VPN, Log Mein)
  • Familiarity with antivirus policies, procedures, exclusions, and computer rights
  • NAS, RAID configuration ability is a plus
  • MS Certificate Services is a plus, not required.
  • A+ Certification is a plus, not required.
  • NET+ Certification is a plus, not required
