Job Description

The Data Science and AI Academy at NC State University is seeking instructors to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Data Science. The successful candidate(s) will teach according to the Data Science and AI Academy’s needs and the applicant’s knowledge, skills, and ability.

To apply, please submit a curriculum vitae, cover letter, and 3 reference contacts for consideration. Also required is a teaching statement of no more than 1 page that includes how your teaching practices help create a classroom environment that aligns with the ADAPT course model and demonstrates NC State’s goals and values as described in the Wolfpack 2030 Powering the Extraordinary Strategic Plan.

In your cover letter, please list which of the following core courses you would like to be considered for as an instructor:
Introduction to R/Python for Data Science, Introduction to Data Visualization, Data Communication, Introduction to AI Ethics, Data Science for Social Good, Introduction to Data Science for Cybersecurity, Measuring Success, Data Wrangling and Web Scraping, and Data Internships Preparation for Social Impact.

Optional: if you are interested in proposing a new course, include a draft of a course idea based on the ADAPT course model that includes the course title, a short course description, 4 to 6 learning objectives, an idea for final project, the level of the course (200, 400 or 500), and a list of prerequisite skills that are required for 400 and 500 level courses.
