The Business Strategy and Data Analyst will be a key member of the Business Strategy & Analytics team using analytical insights and strategic solutions to improve the Hurricanes’ business. This position will work across Hurricanes and affiliate business operations teams to collaborate on solutions and implement new initiatives. The Business Strategy and Data Analyst will be a key contributor to the department’s mission of sustaining and growing revenue streams, improving fan experience, and creating operational efficiency.

This role requires a revenue generation and organizational growth mindset and the ability to provide key insights for revenue generating areas of the business including, but not limited to, ticket sales, premium sales, corporate partnership, merchandise, food & beverage, as well as marketing and arena operations. This is a full‑time, on‑site position based at our offices in Raleigh, NC, requiring regular in‑person collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Administration of streamlined, hygienic data ingestion routines to maintain the organization’s data sources while driving implementation and usage of the data warehouse.
  • Develop, manage, and enhance analytics platforms in collaboration with IT and external vendors.
  • Provide quantitative analysis, strategic initiatives, and data driven insights on ticket pricing, inventory management, customer retention, market segmentation, sponsorship valuation, and other analytical projects.
  • Update the dashboard metrics and key reports for use by executive leadership within Tableau.
  • Work within a team on multiple projects at a time and collaborate with various departments across the organization to support their collective growth.
  • Extract meaningful observations and insights from research and data sets to support fact‑based decision‑making.
  • Drive adoption of business intelligence tools across the organization to leverage the information available to them and support high level decision‑making.
  • Coordinate and fulfill League reporting requests across business domains as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to share best practices across our business and support process changes.
  • Present data insights and recommendations to stakeholders from Executives to front‑line staff.
  • Manage and maintain healthy external vendor and partner relationships, while also holding them accountable.
  • Serve as admin of CRM system (Salesforce preferred), and work with sales reps and managers on how to properly leverage its capabilities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Statistics, Data Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling and analytics frameworks.
  • Experience working with financial/data modeling and statistical software.
  • Experience working with large data sets on premise or in a cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with business intelligence software solutions (Tableau preferred).
  • Strong familiarity with data warehouses, ticketing systems (Ticketmaster/Archtics), third‑party services (KORE Software), and programming languages (SQL, Python, R) preferred.
  • Experience building data pipelines and robust ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques and libraries for predictive analysis.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience administrating Salesforce Sales Cloud (CRM).
  • Administration of enterprise level email marketing platforms, including list segmentation and ensuring high inbox placement.
  • Ability to pivot quickly and learn new technologies and analysis techniques.
  • Strong presentation skills, attention to detail, and promptness.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
